Julius Ellman

Julius was born in Coney Island, Brooklyn, NY in 1922. Even as a child, Julius had a passion for playthings, building sand castle runways with his friend to see how long they could keep a ball rolling. His wife, June recognized his creative talent and suggested he work on toys as a hobby. Turning his hobby into a profession in 1950, Julius partnered with George Lerner and has successfully placed concepts with many leading toy companies. In the 1980′s, Julius’ sons Steven and Fred joined their father and George, and today continue to create playthings at Lernell Company.
